Obtaining Permits

There are certain projects that require a permit.  Again, a professional or licensed contractor can tell you what permits are needed.  If you decide to act as your own general contractor, you can check with your local building department.  When considering handling a job on your own, be aware that in certain regions only certified electricians or plumbers are legally allowed to install or upgrade wiring and pipes.
